 Spirit of a City Celebration

The Spirit of a City celebration, to be held on Saturday, March 8, 2008, will acknowledge all of Thuringowa's past and present achievements, and pay tribute to the businesses, schools, organisations and residents of Thuringowa.
The day offers a range of activities, including a welcoming babies ceremony, citizenship ceremony, music, theatre and dance performances, a community parade, fireworks, and exhibitions/displays.

 Riverway Performances - Ongoing

The Riverway Arts Centre is offering a unique and fabulous program this year to cater for all tastes. From music, comedy, theatre and musicals, to a fashion bash, short plays, digital projection and a laser light show, there is sure to be something for everyone.

Shows range from $15 to $30 for adults, and there are discounts for those who book three or more performances. Riverway are also hosting a “try before you buy” program called Test Drive the Arts, so get in quick to get free tickets to selected shows.

 Markets - Weekly/Monthly

Community markets are popular with locals and visitors alike, and are the perfect place to score a bargain or indulge in some fine local cuisine. You can find a wide range of hand made arts and crafts, locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables, plants, jewellery, clothing and much more at all of the community markets throughout Thuringowa.

Willows Markets, Thuringowa Central
The Willows Markets are the largest of the markets held in Thuringowa, and are held every Sunday in the car park of Willows Shoppingtown from 8am – 12noon.

Rollingstone Markets
The Rollingstone Markets are held on the first Saturday of each month from April through to September at Vincent "Bushy" Parker Park, Rollingstone. Phone 07 4770 7466 for more information.

Upper Ross Community Centre Markets
The Upper Ross Community Centre is home to the community markets on the first Saturday of each month from February to September. Phone 07 4774 0144 for more information.

Bluewater Markets
Bluewater hosts community markets on the second Saturday of each month at the Bluewater Community Centre. Phone (07) 4788 6248 for more information.

Bohlevale Markets
The Bohlevale markets are held on the third Saturday of each month at the Bohlevale Community Centre, Jensen. Phone 07 4751 6511 for more information.

Balgal Beach Markets

Riverway Night Markets

Bluewater Film Nights - Monthly

Film nights and social evenings are held on a monthly basis at the Bluewater Community Centre, showcasing a number of popular films for the whole family to enjoy. Contact the Association on 07 4770 7878 or 07 4788 6176.

The Black River Rodeo

The Black River Stadium provides the perfect venue to enjoy the exhilarating sport of bull riding. The rodeo is an annual event, and has entertainment for the whole family, as well as food vendors, a licensed bar and camping facilities.
