Paradise Water Hole
Big Crystal Creek day use area and camping grounds is located at the base of Paluma Range Road, approximately 1.5km from the Bruce Highway turnoff at Mutarnee. This lovely area has picnic tables and barbeque facilities, as well as toilets and showers. Just a five minute walk from the day use area is a sizable freshwater swimming hole, the perfect place to cool off in summer.
Big Crystal Creek
Located just a little further past Paradise Waterhole, Big Crystal Creek is another great swimming and picnicking location, set amounst a natural bush setting. Picnic tables are provided, however there are no public toilets or barbecue facilities available.
Little Crystal Creek
Little Crystal Creek day use are is located approximately half way up the Paluma Range Road, 7km from the Bruce Highway turnoff. This are provides visitors with a tranquil picnic setting, filled with the sound of cascading fresh mountain creeks and with a backdrop of world heritage listed rainforest. A roman stone arch bridge built during the Great Depression of the 1930s adds to the fairytale-like scenery. A stopover at Little Crystal Creek, whether for a picnic, barbeque, swim or just a simple photo opportunity is a must!
McClelland's Lookout
If a picnic table with a view is what you're after, it doesn't get much better than McClelland's Lookout! This stunning location offers panoramic views over the Paluma Range National Park, the cane fields of the lower coastal land and beyond to Halifax Bay, the Palm Island Group and the Great Barrier Reef. Equipped with sheltered picnic tables and public toilets, this really is a spectacular picnic location.
Paluma Village Green
Located in the heart of Paluma village, the Village Green offers sheltered picnic tables, playground facilities and public toilets. Its central location, playground facilities for the kids and convenient parking makes Paluma Village Green the perfect place for a family picnic.
Lake Paluma
Lake Paluma is located approximately 16km past the township of Paluma, along an unsealed road. This stunning location offers a high quality day use area and camping grounds. The freshwater lake is perfect for swimming and non-motorised vessels, and the day use area has all necessary facilities such as picnic tables, barbecues, public toilets and showers.
