Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays: “Townsville Highlands Tunnel Tour”
The entrance to Hervey’s Range is a comfortable 40 minutes drive west of the city, climbing 400 metres above sea level onto western ranges. The "Townsville Highlands Tunnel Tour" is a unique eco experience, one that offers a diverse range of attractions, including pioneering history and the old Greenvale Rail Corridor, with its tunnels cut through solid granite (two of which are over 400m in length!). Spectacular views across to Cleveland Bay combine with the surrounding flora and fauna to achieve an invigorating environment - here you can see the views and smell the trees. The tour also includes a visit to the famous Hervey’s Range Heritage Tea Rooms, built in 1865 (then known as the Eureka Hotel). The Australian bush at its stunning best!
How to get there: Tony offers a pick up service from most areas in the city upon request.
Time: 1pm departure with an approximate 5.30pm arrival time back in Thuringowa.

Mondays: “Townsville Highlands Nocturnal Tour”
Experience the tunnels of the old Greenvale Rail Corridor by night to explore the many wonders of another world. This is a world that comes to life while you are usually asleep. There are so many of animals to see – wallabies, possums, bandicoots, bats and owls!
How to get there: Tony offers a pick up service from most areas in the city upon request.
Time: 6pm departure with an estimated 10pm arrival back in Thuringowa.
Cost: $65.00 per adult

Sundays: “Townsville Highlands Bubbly Sunset Tour”
Tony also offers sunset tours of the stunning Hervey’s Range. Your bubbly tour will include a tour along the old Greenvale Corridor, with tunnels cut through solid granite tunnels (some over 400m long!). Take in the panoramic views across Cleveland Bay and watch the amazing visual show of the shadows and colour of the rugged Harvey's Range. You will be taken back by the breathtaking beauty of the night sky sprinkled with stars and the sparkling lights of the city!

Time: 4pm departure with an estimated 8pm arrival back in Thuringowa.

Thursday: “Rainforest, Waterfalls and the Canecutters Sons Tour”
This is a day tour through one of our sugar cane regions to the rainforest village of Paluma, in the Mount Spec National Park. There area is rich with scenery, history and great local characters! Enjoy the breathtaking views from McClelland’s Lookout and guided walks through the rainforest, along creeks and waterfalls. Rejuvenate yourself by having a swim in the mountaintop freshwater streams. Morning tea included.

Book NowDescription: Hidden Valley is a unique rainforest getaway, located at the top of Paluma Range, approximately 75 kilometres from Thuringowa Central. This secluded retreat is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle, and get back to nature. Hidden Valley is a destination unlike any other, and is filled with native wildlife, bird species and other mountain secrets.
Your three day tour will depart from an agreed point in either Townsville or Thuringowa, and will start off by taking you around to some of the local attractions such as Castle Hill and the Strand before taking you north via the Bruce Highway and up to the Hidden Valley, your home base for the next couple of days, via the tranquil village of Paluma. That night, enjoy a nocturnal tour of the rainforest before retiring to bed and enjoying a well deserved sleep in.
The following day will take you to Running River Gorge for a day of swimming, fishing, sun bathing, bushwalking and relaxing until sunset. An Aussie style barbecue with traditional bush damper will conclude the day’s activities. The third and final day is just as action packed as the last, with a tour to explore the beautiful Mount Fox Crater and lunch at Wallaman Falls – a spectacular single drop waterfall over 340 metres high! On the way back to Townsville you will experience the area's landmarks such as the “pub with no beer”, the Tyto wetlands and the scenic sugarcane fields on the way back down the coast.

1 Day Tour – Thornton’s Gap Bullock Trail – Mountain Railway Tunnels and Rainforest
Relive some of the old pioneering days, when a trip through the Thornton’s Gap on Hervey’s Range was a full day of strenuous travel. Enjoy morning tea at the Hervey’s Range Heritage Tea Rooms. This historic building was formally the Eureka Hotel, built in 1865, and is believed to be the oldest building in North Queensland.
Learn of the amazing changes the local aboriginal people have seen both through geological time, and since the coming of the white man. Hear the amazing story of the shipwreck survivor James Morril, who lived with the local aboriginal people for 17 years.
Tour the amazing tunnels of the Greenvale Rail Corridor and witness the fantastic views of the coast from atop Hervey’s Range. Travel through miles of bush roads before launching in the cool climate of Hidden Valley Cabins. Then experience the mountaintop village of Paluma and surrounding World Heritage Listed rainforest as you wind your way back down the range to the coast.

2 Day Tour – Thornton’s Gap Bullock Trail – Mountain Railway Tunnels and Rainforest
The 2 day tours covers all the attractions covered in the 1 day tour, with some very special extras that are sure to make you want to stay just that little bit longer. The 2 day tour also includes an overnight camp in the lush tropical rainforest, and a visit to Australia’s largest single drop waterfall, Wallaman Falls. Weather permitting; this extended tour also covers the Herbert River and lunch near the Herbert Gorge before returning back to Townsville.
